I recommend setting up an httacess password for the Hesk directory. It's way easier and more secure to do it like that than to run random php code on your servers.

With this script I can also customize the login graphics.
With htacces I think it can't be done.
I agree that a .htaccess protected directory might be a better (more reliable and well-tested) solution here.
The Hesk update is mostly done (except some minor known issues), but still have a lot of testing to do. We will be releasing a beta version when ready.

It was more complicated than initially anticipated (because we want to preserve the "no login" feature as an option), but we're getting there. I'm 90% confident the beta will be out in April.
