Hi, newbie here. This is probably a stupid question but I just want to make sure I am doing it right. I installed this just fine and everything works great. The question I have is, when I installed it I used the same MySQL database settings that my board uses, is that the right way or should I set up Help Desk a database of it's own?

I hope I asked that correctly. Basically, can Help Desk use the same database as my board or should it have it's own?

Sorry for the newbie question....thanks

As long as you are using a prefix to the tables (Hesk does by default) you should be OK. I don't see any major downside to doing this aside from slightly complicating database restoration in the event of a problem.

I like to use separate databases for everything, that's more of a personal preference really. I'm a bit of an organization freak.

Thanks for the reply YankeePicker,

I kinda feel the same way about everything having its own closet. That way I know just where to find them. I really just didn't know if it would make any difference.

Thanks again, I appreciate it

I also agree with YankeePicker: it will work in any existing database but if you can do create a new one to keep things in order.
