since version 1.34Xhtml 1.1 doesn't include the junk Mark Spamfilter I wonder if its possible to update it myself. I dont know much about PHP.

update 1.34 Xhtml to 1.35

No need to update the guestbook yourself!
I updated it for you. I was busy lately with other things but because of your request I made some time free to update the Gbook Xhtml (mod HL.03) to Gbook version 1.35.
The new version is now GBook 1.35 xhtml 1.1 (mod HL.04).
See the this post in the add-ons forum to download it.
Backup you old gbook files before replacing them!
Replace the old gbook.php file with the new one.
Add the nospam.gif image to the images folder
Replace the settings.php file with the new one and change the settings according to your preferences (most of them should be copied from your previous settings.php file).

Ps. You should make your old guestbook read-only. Now new messages (spam) are still added.
