Howdy Klemen! Well after a 5-year hiatus I am back! And wow, so much as changed since then! The latest version of Hesk looks downright AMAZING!!! And stock full of features too!

I've since pretty much retired, so that's why you haven't heard from me for so long. But as a volunteer favor, I am currently installing a seat of Hesk for a non-profit where I live. Unlike all the customizations I've needed in the past, the only one I need for this seat is a description field, to provide descriptions under the categories they need, to help keep folks from submitting to the wrong category. Hoping this might require a simple code snippet that you could provide? And if you'd need to charge, please PM me to discuss further. Thanks!

Hi Lisa,

There is no built-in way of adding descriptions to categories.

Unfortunately, I cannot help you out modifying Hesk to add this feature as I have work over my head. You may want to hire a PHP developer for help, for example by posting a project to sites like upwork.com or freelancer.com

And what prevents you from making a description of the categories on the button itself? In HESK, as many as forty characters are allocated for this. If desired, you can add the number of characters entered to the category name by editing the code.

For example:

CEMD, Computer Equipment Maintenance Department (PC repair, MFP, OS installation)
