500+ old tickets came in all of a sudden

All of a sudden on May 15th we got 500+ old tickets that came into our system that we had never received before. There were from February and March. Why did this happen? Does anyone know? Very upsetting that we missed so many questions from customers.

The only way I see this happening is if you had POP3/IMAP fetching enabled and it didn't work, then on 15th someone changed (fixed) login details and all those emails were sent to Hesk?
