Return-Path: in email header

Post by Todd »

Script URL:
Version of script: 2.7.3
Hosting company:
URL of phpinfo.php:
URL of session_test.php:
What terms did you try when SEARCHING for a solution:

Write your message below:

In the header of emails sent do not
pull the email address from settings.

It uses the cpanel username as the Return-Path:
this causes emails to go to spam.

Example:
Return-Path: <*****@************.com>
This should be the email address in settings.

Can we get a fix for this?

Thanks,
Todd

The return path gets overwritten by Cpanel because your mail is being sent by user "Nobody".

You can try using sending a real SMTP account (Settings > Email tab > Send email using: STMP server), that will change the return path header to the sender's account.

However, the return path is not causing your emails to go into SPAM if you have the server and domain SPF records properly setup.

See my reply here for steps that can greatly improve your email delivery (especially setting up SPF and DKIM signatures):

This worked and all is good.
