Installing Hesk on local VM

Hey guys,

I need help with setting up Hesk on a local VM. The steps that they provide are only for a cloud server.

Any help would be appreciated.

The steps are for ANY server that can run PHP and MySQL. It doesn't matter if it is hosted remotely or on a localhost.

What exactly are you having problems with? Note that we do not help with setting up the server, only Hesk on an already running sever. For help with server setup try your favorite search engine, there are hundreds of tutorials out there.

I did try to search but couldn't get it to run.

So the official steps say that it needs to be uploaded on a public server. I want to try it locally on a computer by creating a VM and then uploading the files there.

It is an ubuntu 16.04 machine with PHP and Apache installed. I need to understand to how do I go about running the php files and get Hesk running on that platfrom.

Here is a simple guide:

Step #1

Can you already run any PHP/MySQL script on your server?

YES = go to Step #2
NO = sorry, I cannot help with server setup, only with getting Hesk to run on a working and properly configured server.



Step #2

Explain which step of Hesk installation are you having problems with; what happens, what errors you see, etc...

P.s.: the guide says you need to upload to the public folder of your server (one that can be accessed via browser), not to a public server
