Email Notifications

Version of script: 2.7.3

What terms did you try when SEARCHING for a solution: Email Notifications

Write your message below:

Recently we have updated our mail server software (MDaemon) and email notifications have stopped working. The test connection button works fine and says 'Connection Successful' but every time a new ticket is submitted or a reply we get the message:

'Note: Could not send email notifications. Please notify webmaster at xxx@xxx.co.uk'

I've tried adding our mail server by name, and IP Address with the same issue. The SMTP username and password are working.

Are there any other tests that we can do to try and get this working or do you have any hints about where to look to begin troubleshooting this? We are using 3 different instances of Hesk. 2 of them are running 2.4.1, and the other I upgraded to 2.7.3 to see if it fixed our issue. Unfortunately it didn't :(

If you need any more information please let me know and I'll find it for you.

Thanks in advance.

If you enable debug mode in your HESK settings (under the "Help Desk" tab), and then try submitting a ticket or reply. Instead of getting the warning message, you should receive more specific information as to what went wrong when trying to send the email.

Managed to fix it. It was because the SMTP username was different to the noreply email address used by Hesk. I added a Whitelist for the noreply address in our mail software and emails are now being sent :)

Thanks for your prompt reply.
