Creating New Status

What terms did you try when SEARCHING for a solution: deny, reject

I am using the hesk scripts as a safety/maintenance request system. Occassionally tickets will get entered that are duplicates or not valid requests. How can I add a status of "Denied" or "Duplicate", that close the ticket but will not go toward the count of closed tickets?
