This script is just what I needed, thanks Klemen
I am a newby to php, but I have previous editing skills.

This is my problem;
After posting a New Topic, and returning to mboard and clicking on the Recent topics link----Page not found.
I can edit threads.txt and paste %0d%0a after(each) /msg/ (statement).html and it will work properly. Have I missed something?
If count.txt has any entry in it-I also get Page not found.
Mboard is a wonderful and simple board for my needs.

Hi,

Upload the original count.txt again and make sure it is CHMOD-ed to 666 (rw-rw-rw-). The original count.txt should have number 0 inside, yours is empty.

Hi,
Great message (board except im doing somthing wrong) im new to php i set the message board up and i can create new topics no problem unfortuantly i have done something wrong as i cant read any topics if i click on the topic it just tells me the page cannot be found, i changed from a window's to a linux server and changed the msg folder to rwx rwx rwx and the count.txt to 666 and the tread.txt to 666 other than this im completly lost and really dont know what to try next, any help would be welcome

We can't really help unless you provide this info. Also upload the phpinfo file to your mboard folder

I just noticed one thing, that all new threads added are named 0.htm.
I just do not know what is causing this error. But Klemen probably can tell you what is causing this error with the info you provided.

That's a strange one, all new posts really get ID 0 and the ID doesn't change.

Have you been editing mboard.php file? If yes please try uploading the original one (don't edit anything) and see if it works.

Hi,
im positive i had changed anything in the mboard.php but i uploaded it and again the same happened, so downloaded he whole board from your site again and reuploaed it into my site only changing the settings.php still didnt work i rechecked my msg folder these are the properies:-

msg
type folder

permission: drwxrwxrwx
owner: domain11

uploaded that file i put it in the mboard folder, it overwrite the existing mboard.php was this right???

Yes it should overwrite the original file, but are you sure you did it? The one you have now isn't the file in the mboard_debug.zip as it doesn't print out the extra info I added to that file!

That's better

For a reason not know to me PHP is not increasing the numbers on your server if you use $variable++

Try uploading this file and see if it helps or not:
