how do I modify reports.php?

i am trying to modify the reports.php page to add an additional field when a user report is ran.

in the hesk_replies section of the database I have added a field that is named contrib I would like it if when I ran a report with the by user option if it also reflected the total contributions each user has vouched for in the given time period.

Any help with understading how php and mysql compiles the math or even mod instructions would be a blessing and a world of help
