Customizing Subject Line of Automatic Confirmation Emails

Post by WellWithU »

What terms did you try when SEARCHING for a solution: Ticket Received, Customizing Subject

Question:

Where do I change the subject line of auto-generated confirm emails so the the submitter receives an email more specific than just "Ticket Received"? Can this include customized info, like my company name or the ticket number? Is this something I need a programmer to do, or is it simply a user setting in the admin that I just can't seem to find?

Also, in my testing (in Gmail), the receiver only sees the sender as the email name before the @ in my no-reply address, so rather than seeing "Support@[MyCompay}.com, they just see "Support", which is (again) non-specific. So they are receiving emails that are from "Support" with the subject "Ticket Received", I mean, could this look more like SPAM? ;-) I guess I could make up an email of "[My Company]_Support@ [My Company}.com", and thereby fake out the system so it will display "[My Company]_Support" as the sender, but that is sort of clunky.

I receive emails in gmail all the time where the sender is specified by the sender listing "{Their Company} <[Something]@{TheirCompany}.com>, and I see the sender listed as the info outside the < >, not the email address itself. I tried formatting it like this in Hesk as our no-reply email, and when it was sent, the sender was listed as "(unknown sender)". Obviously, that is even worse than "Support".

Please advise.

Thanks! Hesk is fantastic!

All the text is in the language/en/text.php. To further modify the subject you'd need to modify the source code. Some samples were posted in the forum already, try searching for "include subject in message title" or similar.
