Click counts going up their self

Click counter works perfect except 1 little problem, when i add a new link the click counts go up by their self. when i check my websites visits it shows 0 people have visited and i tryed 4 different traffic counters and the clicks on my links keep going up without being clicked. its a relatively new domain and only 3 people know about it. yes, the traffic counters iv tryed all worked. the clicks of all my links = 168, thats just in almost 4 days with 0 visits.

could anyone tell me what would make the click counts go up without being clicked? and no, i'm not clicking them

Could be bots (programs, scripts, search engine bots, ...), have you checked your web hosting stats or logs (like AwStats, Webalizer)?

Thank you, that helped alot. It was AwStats that was making the clicks go up. Now i can get the actual count of all my links!
