Personally I think it would be better if you charged for this script which is excellent in it's own right, and if possible take some time out to concentrate on additional features, a development path and a little marketing etc.

I've already paid for licensing but I have no problem in spending $50+ or £30+ whatever you want to charge as long as there was better development. You have a "product" here which meets the expectancies of MANY small businesses "mine included" and quote me if I'm wrong but Hesk is already a great solution used by hundreds of users. It's a business related product so why not re-launch as a commercial script with a bit more dedication and a tad more support. Just my 2p

I think considering Klem does this on the side, the amount of time is limited that he can spend on this, while its a great product it is a free product and I think he keeps it that way for a reason. If he was to make this a commercial product he would need to support it as well as update it more often and from what I have read on the forum there is no way he has that kind of time to do constant development on it.

I think for what it is its a fantastic script and pretty well supported on this forum for what it is, and remeber you can look on the forum and find mods that can greatly enhance the sys so you can as a user develop it a bit yourself as I have done by modifiying it to my own needs.

As for the mod you state I think he may add that to the next version ...
But lets wait for him to answer you to be exact.

I don't think you would be popular among Hesk users with suggestions like that

I did think of a "Pro" version of Hesk in the past, but I am not sure this will ever be added. I plan to keep Hesk free with everything that comes with a free script. Yes, you can't expect a 24/7 support or quick inclusion of new features. A commercial script requires more dedicated support and development, but programming is not my primary profession so I wouldn't be prepared to provide that.

All in all small businesses get access to a useful script free of charge with the option to purchase a license and support my work. It can't compete with the functionality of $300+ scripts, but it wasn't even meant to.

Automatic ticket closing is planned for the next version, yes.
