Hi,
Nice to see that a community exists for those who are looking for solutions to anything.and I am sure i would get one here.
Well.. I downloaded the ccount script and it works fine..as I have few of advertisers where you need to track the number of clicks you were providing to them..However..recently I have got a UK advertiser who is looking for only UK traffic and rest of the traffic will go to some xyz site.
Anyone here who has worked on geo-targeting the ccount script?? or has coded it to customize more..?
I hope to get a prompt reply
Thanks
ROn
Geo-Targeting
Since CCount only counts clicks (doesn't display anything) it's not what you are looking for. If you are counting clicks on ads then you need to filter out when the ad is DISPLAYED. CCount counts the clicks and has nothing to do with displaying ads.
You might want to try something like www.phpadsnew.com

Hi Klemen,
Ofcourse I am looking for CCount as I know that it is a counting clicks script as well as you can term it a redirection script which counts the number of times a click has been generated to a particular URL being given on the admin
Now..what I was looking for is Geo-Targeting..
Let's say I have the first ID setup to
http://www.yourdomain.com/ccount/click.php?id=1 >> nytimes.com
I get around 10,000 clicks everyday to this link but my UK traffic are not interested on nytimes.com but they would rather want to go to bbc.co.uk, so that is where i was looking for geo-targeting..
Suppose I create the first ID with a genre of 'news' where I submit sites based on geo-targeting
US > nytimes.com
UK > bbc.co.uk
Australia > australiadaily.com
Non - US > blahblah.com
So...my whole traffic to particular news ID is utlized and well targeted as well as it counts the number of clicks too!
Hope you understand and can shed some light if this can be done by someone here..

It can be done using a database from example
http://www.maxmind.com/app/geoip_country or
http://ip-to-country.webhosting.info/
but would require quite some editing (I provide free support but not free editing scripts to fit individual needs).
IMPORTANT - 10k clicks per day? You should STOP using CCount and find a script with MySQL database. CCount uses a text database and text databases are in no way powerful or secure enough to handle such a load. Your database file could get corrupted (info deleted) quite often. You really should use a MySQL script for such high-traffic website.
