Over-write Msg Folder File To Keep Same File Name Always?

I am very green to coding any of this, so if there is an answer, it would greatly be appreciated if you spoke "dumb" to me...I have it all working. I have the messageboard set to keep 1 post and to delete old posts. But What I want it to do is over-write the post that is currently up. In otherwords I want the count.txt to always stay on "1." I am doing something else connected with this and need the same page to be displayed and not change numbers on me. Thanks for any help you can give me!
