Henrie,
I have no idea, myself I worked with webstyle 4 a few times and all menus works fine in IE 7.

I noticed that the " reisadvies " on www.ns.nl is not working anymore
[ at least for me ] in IE, when I enter a destination [ Utrecht Centraal ]
it selected black and IE freezes, works fine in Firefox & Netscape.
A bug ?

By the way, your site : http://users.scoutnet.nl/~donbosco/index2.htm

The menus works perfect here in FireFox & Netscape, not IE7

Hello bigboom,

I just tried your site http://www.eigenstart.nl/dochters/eigen ... php?a=sign and it worked without any errors with Firefox 2.0 and IE 7.

Weird. My firefox 1.5.0.9 shows an image that says "Security image" in stead of a real number....I will update my FF tomorrow and share my findings. Thanks for the quick response!

Firefox 2.0.0.3

Post by qcarson »

I have FF 2.0.0.3 and my security image does not show. It only shows a box that says "security image".

Any suggestions?

Hello qcarson.

I think you posted in the wrong thread because you are using version 1.5 and not the modified 1.43 xhtml guestbook.

But to answer your question, I also use FF 2.0.0.3 and the security image is shown exactly as it should be in the guestbook to which you provided a link.

Perhaps you could check the following threads in the gbook forum from other users who also have a problem with the security image.

Found It

Post by qcarson »

Henrie, Thanks for the input. You are right, I was in the wrong forum, but I found my problem. I changed the name of my gbook and forgot to change it in the security file.

Everything is fine now.

Gbook version 1.5 has been available for a while. I started upgrading my HL-modification to it in May 2007 but never finished it. Now I have and here it is.

Date: October 15, 2007 (mod HL.07)
Author: Henrie van der Locht
Website: See first post

The modifications in version mod HL.07 are:
  • Changed: code updated to GBook version 1.5
New: code changed to XTHML 1.1 valid, IP address banning.
Improved: fixes for two most common problems with sessions, improved anti-SPAM features, multiple empty lines will now be reduced to only one empty line, fixed display of special language characters.
  • Added: function to show e-mail addresses only after entering administrator password.
You can download the update zip file here
Update January 1, 2010. No longer available for download

READ THE README.HTM FILE IN THE ZIP FILE IF YOU ARE UPGRADING FROM XHTML VERSION HL.04 OR OLDER
Your existing entries file (standard is entries.txt) has to be upgraded to work with the newer HL-modifications

Greetings,
Henrie

No smilies GBook v 1.5 mod HL.07

Post by jaap »

Hi Henrie,

Sorry for the double post, not sure where to put it.

I was setting up a new geustbook for a friend , working fine as always but I noticed when I set the stylesheet changer to 0 [ off] the indert smilies link does not work anymore. ?
Tried a not edited settings.php , with the stylesheet changer to 1 smilies works and after switching to 0 smilies stop popping up.

Zie ik iets over het hoofd ?

Groeten,
Jaap.

Hi Jaap,

Good you posted here. I get an automatic mail when a new question is posted here.

I looked at your problem and it was an error from my side (je hebt dus niets over het hoof gezien). I guess this version is not used very often as nobody mentioned the problem to me before.

Edited January 1, 2010:
A fixed version can be downloaded here Download link no longer available, see first post for latest version
Only the gbook.php file and the readme.htm have changed.

Greetings,
Henrie
