can Linkman read a remote linkinfo.txt

Is it possible to have different web sites use the same <linkinfo> document - for example, can a link added to one site automatically be shown on my other sites?

I guess I am asking if it will enable me to fetch info from a remote site.

no need to answer that one, the answer is YES. it will read from a remote site

Like you said: yes it can (provided your server support remote URL opening) but it can't write to a remote location.
