Enter long descriptions for manually added links in admin ?

Hello,

I managed to successfully modify my description length settings to 500 characters, but I'm still unable to actually enter these longer descriptions for manually entered links in admin.... I have to keep redownloading the linkinfo.txt file to my local site, and enter the longer text in there.

If it's possible to circumvent this laborious solution, I'd be grateful for teh insight.

Open index.php in Notepad just replace all occurrences of number 200 with 500 (use "Find" to find all numbers 200, if you use replace all it will also replace "2008" to "5008" )
