Setup Problem

When going to the admin.php file for the first time I select Administrator from list, of couse only user, and type in the password "admin" and I press login. The screen the then goes blank and nothing appears. No message saying page cannot display or anything. If I type in a different password it says wrong password so it has to been communicating but something else is going on.
