Importing features into the previous guestbook

I wonder if someone could help, I'm currently using GB 1.43 brilliant though it is, I would like to add the ban this IP address function (with the tick box) and the improved junk script, I tried all afternoon pasting the code from current version 1.5 even I thought I thought I was getting somewhere the tick box function did not work so I must of made a few mistakes, I also noticed some extra code tagged on the name field and I believe the comments field because.
The obvious move would just be to upgrade to the 1.5 GB but the amount of formatting and extra code put in to my old book, added code includes hidden email address, I.P. address feature (without tick box) fields and general feel.
What would be nice if I someone could show me what new code needs to be added which code to be deleted or updated.
I may be a tall order so apologise in advance.

It will be easier if you just install version 1.5 and edit it again, there have been just too many changes to list each and every one. Write down the edits for any future version.

Thanks Klemen I actually was coming round to thinking this late last night after another late night session by candle light!, I get so far then I mess up, and I just came back to see if I had a response from the post and you have gave me the answer that I didn’t want to hear but makes total sense especially with what I mess I’ve got into, I’ll start with doing the hide email update (for v1.5) and go from there.
