Installation Issues.... loops at step 2

Post by Scoobies »

Script URL:http://www.southwestscoobies.org.uk/helpdesk
Version of script: 0.94
Hosting company: Own Server
URL of phpinfo.php: http://www.southwestscoobies.org.uk/phpinfo/phpinfo.php
URL of session_test.php: http://www.southwestscoobies.org.uk/ses ... n_test.php
What terms did you try when SEARCHING for a solution:
installation issues, installation help, installation loop

Write your message below:

I have got a problem during Installation, I agree to the license, then the tests all pass. but when i click to go to step 3 i am redirected back to step 1.

I have tried to edit the hesk_settings.inc.php file manually putting in the database details... but this makes no difference. (Have reverted to unedited file)

I run a Vbulletin forum, this uses php & mysql.... Mysql is enabled on my server, which eliminates a previous error.

Can anyone help with this Please.

I manage my own server, but i am Not experienced.

Many Thanks
Derek

That's a funny one - I'd say problems with sessions, but the session test file seems to work fine? Can you upload the session_test.php and session_test2.php directly into "helpdesk/install" folder and see if it works fine from there as well?

Any chance you can give me FTP access to your server (just inside the hesk folder)? I'm interested to see what is this and how to prevent it. PM me if you can arrange that.

Im sure he will get back to you shortly.

Have you set the permissions correctly on the files in your hesk folder?
This is only a shot in the dark as it was a while ago I installed the helpdesk!

Thanks For That, was not sure.

yes all permissions set.... The installer checks this, and confirms the necessary files are writable.

Usually the issue is problems with sessions, upload the phpinfo and session test files and we will see if that is the problem in your case.

PHP Notice: is "Debug mode" ON in your hesk settings? If yes try setting it to OFF.

You can also try setting error_reporting to 0 in your php.ini file.
