What terms did you try when SEARCHING for a solution: spam filter not working

Write your message below: Problem 1: My spam filter stopped working. When you put in the graphic code it won't recognize the numbers that are entered. I had to turn off spam filter to be able to enter messages.
2. E-mail notification doesn't work (it did for a while).

If it worked and now stopped check with your host what changes they did to their PHP.
