Hi, how can i add in custom fields, keeping in mind that im a complete noob, but i do understand how it all works.

I have added in a field for ponds per mile (im going to use it as a sponsorship form instead of a guestbook, and have added the field with a unique identifier but when the form is submitted its returns the value of the email address instead, anyone any ideas, thanks...

Adding new fields is not advised. It will make the guestbook incompatible with future upgrades.

It needs a lot of editing for which i just don't have the time to explain.

really?, i thought it would have been relatively simple to add a new one, obviously not, i kinda of cheated a bit and just changed the name of the from to what i needed.

As you noticed it is not just changing a variable at one place.
I just did a quick count and the from field is in about 20 places in the gbook.php file. Adding a new field therefore would need changing at least 20 lines.

It is not very hard to do, it just takes to much time for me right now to explain where you need to change everyting.

Okay, if "adding new fields" is not advised, would there at least be a way to change the Website field where it allows a simple text input, rather than a URL?
I've modified this Guestbook here http://www.elliottespetspa.com/EPSGuestbook/gbook.php
into a "Testimonials" page, but most anyone who will leave a comment won't have a website. I would therefore like to change the Website input field to "Pet's Name", where visitors can just type in the name of the animal they had brought to the Spa.
Any hints on how this could be accomplished would be greatly appreciated (unless it also involves editing at least 20 lines of code  )
