Ban IP range

Post by Jase »

In V1.5 can I ban an IP range rather than just an IP address?

I am getting abusive messages coming from an ISP in Germany (Im in the UK) so I doubt it will affect any genuine guests but the IP seems to be dynamic as it varies each time but the ISP is the same - can I just add 192.168.*.* to the ban list for example as opposed to having to put 192.168.1.1, 192.168.1.2 etc etc?

Also do I just need to add IP to the list with a % on the end or do I need to do something additonally?

Thanks

No, you can't add ranges, only individual IPs can be added in this version. If you are getting spam from IP ranges you should consider banning that range from your server completely with htaccess for example.

And yes, just like the readme file says, all you need to do is add IP and %

Have used htaccess to ban the range from the site completely - thanks again for your help.
