Has anyone had problems with a file called "core"?

Post by kevin116 »

Script URL: http://www.widerworldbusiness.com/ccount/
Version of script: 1.1
Hosting company: HostingTrade
URL of phpinfo.php:
URL of session_test.php:
What terms did you try when SEARCHING for a solution: ccount core

Write your message below:
A couple times under my ccount directory a large file has appeared called "core" which has almost burst my disk usage. I deleted it and it doesn't seem to affect the running of ccount.

Has anyone else come across this - is it a hack?

Thanks
Kev

I know of one person who mentioned a "core.24480" file some time ago. CCount doesn't use or generate any "core" files, you might want to check with your hosting company what this file is. Could be some sort of cache or log file.

I had a core file also and deleted it, does anybody know what that file is?

I'm curious to know if it may be a hack or not?

Not a hack, but a memory dump, see
