Spam Traffic to My Guestbook

In the past I have had a lot of trouble with spam on my gbook. Now I don't get as many spam posts, but I still get a huge amount of what seems like spam traffic to my guestbook. It usually gets several thousand views as an entry AND exit page. Then it messes up my traffic stats in AwStats.

What can I do about this? Is there any way to fix it?

Upgrade your Gbook to the latest version which is 1.43. As spam evolves so does spam protection.

You meant a lot of hits to your gbook from (presumably) spam software that is messing up your logs, right?

I too am having major issues with traffic...

I am getting 2000 - 4000 his a day to my gbook.php page.

Here is the weird part, in my opinion anyways.

I have google analytics and statcounter.com monitoring the page and I don't ever register a hit.

I also have Google adsense on the page and google adsense in not registering page impressions either.

Any idea what is going on? Any ideas on what is causing this would be greatly appreciated!

Let me know if ya need to see my logs or anything. It seems that it is just random ip's. Not any certain ones...
