Hi,

Sorry, it won't work with PHP older than 4.3.x

By the way, PHP 4.1.2 is from 27 Feb 2002! You should upgrade your PHP to 4.4 or ask your host to do it (I wonder why they haven't already in 4 years?) as having such an old version is not secure and a lot of script will have problems working.

something about the newer versions being unstable and a lot work to have to upgrade and reconfigure. i thinks more work than being unstable. could they really be that lazy? :)

LOL!?

Ok, I understand if they don't want to install PHP 5 (I don't run it yet either), but a 4 years old version being more stable than for example PHP 4.3.11 or 4.4.1? In my honest opinion they are either lazy, unprofessional or ... well, I don't want to say what

A piece of advise - start searching for a new hosting company. I wouldn't trust one that didn't update their server software for over 4 years and when you mention it to them they say it's "too much work".

You should refer your hosting company to
http://www.php.net/ChangeLog-4.php
and let them count how many bugs have been fixed since 4.1.2. So much for "more stable"
