ideas

Below are a few ideas/features in no particular order that would be very nice to have:

(1) Option to "always be logged in"
— whenever I close my browser window and then go back to the Hesk it requires me to re-login. This becomes annoying after a while. It would be nice to have a feature to store the pw in cookies for a longer period of time.

(2) Compose and send emails directly to people
— It would be nice to be able to click on a person's email address and go to a page where you can then compose and send an email directly to them all within Hesk. Rather than when clicking on an email address having it open in an external program (outlook, etc.)

(3) Private reply option
— when posting a reply to a ticket it would be nice to have the option (checkbox ?) to make your reply 'private' – meaning that it's only viewable to logged in users and not the person who submitted the ticket when they track it.

(4) Change ticket categories
— It would be nice to be able to change the category a ticket has been assigned to. Sometimes people don't choose the right category, and it's a pain not being able to change it.

(5) Add ticket (while logged in)
— I use Hesk so that people may submit a support ticket. I also use it to manage tasks/jobs that I have to do. It would be nice for a logged in user to be able to add a ticket, possibly without having to add an email address.ea where you add tickets

(6) Stats
— Various statistical information would be nice. Such as the number of tickets (and which ones) a user has closed.

(7) Calendar / Due Dates
— Sometimes tickets are due and/or need to be done on a set date/time. It would be nice to have a calendar feature allowing a person to set (if they wanted) a due date for a job.

______________________________

Of course it's easy to think of all these features, but it's obviously a lot of time and work to implement them. As always, keep up the good work, and thanks for listening :0)

Hello All,

Thanks for the ideas. Keep them coming, I really do read them all and note the ones I find interesting and think users will benefit of them.

However I cannot give ANY guarantees as to when and if these features will be added. Hesk is a free script (just like the others here at phpjunkyard.com) so I need to take care of the business first before working on these scripts :D And don't expect Hesk to ever have all the features that $500/year scripts have ;)

just dont forget about the attachment option ;)

and how about having options to assign a ticket to an admin
and allowing the admin to modify the category of the submited ticket.... incase it gets submited in the wrong section and allowing the admin on which category should he receive notices from.

It would be very nice whether there will be the possibility to hide some fields or just setting them as non-required. For example the priority one. Thanks for the good work!

I have just started using Hesk and find it very useful and intuitive. The only thing I found lacking, really, was the ability for the admin/technician to change the category of the submitted ticket.

I realize this idea has been submitted (see below), but I just wanted to add my support for this feature for a future release. Thank you for your great efforts!

Hello,

Just an update for all: the next version is 80% done and it will have many new features suggested here (file attachments, custom fields, change category and more). I hope to have the beta version out within a week or two.

No news at the moment to be honest, been busy doing other stuff. What's left to be done is settings control panel (editing settings from admin panel instead of manaully editing the settings file), documentation, installation/upgrade files and a few minor changes.

I know you would like to see the new version as soon as possible, but believe me, so do I. Will let you all know when the beta is out.

Can I pay you to add attachment uploads?

Hello - I'm not concerned if it's free or not, I'd really like to use it, but only if you'll let me pay for this modification?

Thanks for your response -

Bad timing unfortunately, I will be out of the country for the weekend and then also from 26th Sept to 8th Oct. After that will see what I can do.
