Installing Help Desk software

I have downloaded the Help Desk software onto my desktop. Now what? When I double click on it, it wants to open in Adobe reader, but Adobe won't open it. I see the .zip extension, so does that indicate it should be opening some other way? (I know, I'm showing my ignorance here!) Thanks for your help.

Hi,

That's a Win Zip archive, you need to open the .zip file with a program like Win Zip (http://www.winzip.com/). Windows XP has in-built utility also, just right-click the file and select "Open With" > "Compressed (zipped) folders".

Then copy all the files to a folder of your choice and read the "readme.html" file for further instructions under "installation" and for tips under "Troubleshooting"

No offense, but I would just like to add that the purpose of this support forum is not to give lessons on how to open Win Zip files, extract them, copy them to the server, ... If you are not that familiar using computers you might want to ask a friend to come to the keyboard and help you.
