I have just been playing with the guestbook and I'm very impressed, but I never use php files so it’s a little strange to me, is it possible to change the background colour of the pages and the fonts colour I would assume in the normal way in the css file, also lastly how difficult is it to change and add more fields, sorry if these are silly questions but any help would be very much appreciated.

The style of the fonts and colors can indeed be set by editing the external css file (style.css) which comes with the gbook.

also lastly how difficult is it to change and add more fields

Adding new fields is not that hard when you know what you have to edit. Changing fields is not that hard either but you should be careful as some fields are use for very specific tasks that have been coded in gbook.

IMO there are no silly questions. When someone needs to know something and can't find an answer himself by searching if the answer has been given before, he should ask the question himself.
