Hi,

I'm trying to use your guestbook as the new method to avoid those SPAMMERS. But I already have an old guestbook, with a different entries.txt file. By this I mean the way way it's categorized is different. So if I try to use the old entries.txt file in this new guestbook, it doesn't index all the information at the right place.

Now I've tried editing the old entries.txt file so that it looks exactly like the Gbook entries.txt file. But all I get now is a very long name tag.

How can I edit the old entries so that it will work with Gbook? Or do I have to copy paste every old post?

Here's the URL:

Hi,

This is the format GBook 1.4x uses (one entry per line):

Name(TAB)From(TAB)email(TAB)url(TAB)comment(TAB)isprivate(TAB)reply(TAB)IP

what you did wrong is you used SPACE to separate data, you should use TAB

Thanks,

but I've got no idea how to insert tabs between every tag. I'm working in Excel. I can put tabs between them in Wordpad, but this would take me at least as long as copying the whole lot.

Can't you save from Excel as "Text (Tab delimited)"?
