I know this section is for problems BUT.....

Mboard was EXACTLY what i needed! Simple in every way!

Hey, i will defo do that!!!

I have a couple of things i have noticed with the message board as time has gone on....

(1) As there are more and more posts, i.e. 50+, the loading of the main page becomes a little more slow than i would have really liked. It looks as tho the server has to "scan" each post it's about to view... would this be down to the speed of my server??

(2) It would have really been top notch if you could have the option to display all or older posts rather than just knocking off the oldest once outside the maximum post display setting...

For your info, i am trying to replicate a message board which has been overriden with spambots - your software is almost exactly the same as this. With this board, it displayes the first 75 messages with the option to display all.

Is this a feasible idea/possible addition to your message board??

With all that said, my kudos still stands - without a shadow of a doubt!

UPDATE: Tried it on another server and it seems to take exactly the same amount of time..... at the moment about 11secs to load up an index page which includes 63 posts.

Is there anything i can do with the code to speed this up a bit??

Your help is much appreciated.

This software is ideal for what i want in terms of it's functionality, look and feel.... there's nothing else like it!!!

Hi,

Well MBoard uses a simple include() function to get a list of all messages and doesn't do any processing of messages at all for displaying. If it is loading up slow something else must be wrong, did you check the server load of your server?

As for displaying old posts I will add his in the future, but not sure when as some other scripts (especially Hesk) have priority now.

The old posts function is a wish. I understand that you have other priorities. It's good to hear that it may be included at some point!
