Version of script: 1.41
Version of PHP: 5.0.4
Hosting company: Hosted from Home
Have you searched THIS FORUM for your problem: Yes
(if not please do before posting)
If so, what terms did you try: posting, troubleshooting, error message

Write your message below:

Okay so one other person I could see on this forum has had the same type of problem, but it was fixed. I tried the same thing to no avail.

When I or anyone tries to post on the guesbook (after I upgraded to gBook 1.41) I get the message "You cannot signup this guestbook at the moment!" The recommendation from this forum was that it was being considered SPAM whenever anyone posted, so it was getting denied. Well I completely disabled ALL secuirty, including the JunkMark filter. I'm still having the same problem now :( Is there any hope??

Here is a link to the guestbook, if it gives you any info:

Hello spotana98,

I just tested your guestbook and it works.
You probably did not close your browser between tests so the browser has blocked you in that session. It will not let you enter a message in that same session even if you disabled the spam filter during that session.

Sorry spotana,

In my previous post i mentioned that your guestbook worked. This is only partially true.
I had the same error today with my guestbook which i upgraded recently.
I discovered that this error occurs under the following conditions (and it does not depend on the $settings['junkmark_use'] setting)
  • The Gbook is placed on a server which internet address is not shown in the address bar (in your case the addres bar shows http://www.georgiapemberton.com/gbook.htm but the actual Gbook is located at http://newgil.gotdns.org/georgiabook/gbook.php and is shown in an iframe)
  • Browser is Internet Explorer (or browser based on Internet Explorer such as Maxthon), other browsers such as Firefox, Netscape and Opera don't care if the gbook is displayed from a different address in a frame or iframe or not.
When the Gbook is opened directly from with the following link http://newgil.gotdns.org/georgiabook/gbook.php the guestbook works also in Internet Explorer (and related browsers)

My workaround for myself is to break the frame with the nice internet address and use the actual internet address, but maybe this does not work for you.

Maybe Klemen knows a solution for this problem.

Greetings,
Henrie

Henrie, thank you for taking the time to test the guestbook. Convienently enough, I found this out right after I had posted this message, so I set the guestbook to open into a new window. What I was going for wasn't a pretty url for the guestbook, but instead to embed the guestbook into an HTML file, and unfortunately, that's the only way I know how is using an iFrame. I left the post on here active so I can at least see if anyone had a soulution to that or if I will just have to keep it opening in a separate window, or not within the confines of an iFrame. Thank you again Henrie and anyone else who can help me solve the problem.
