More value fields please?

Post by Guest »

Hi,

First let me say that your Guestbook script is awesome and believe me when I say I've looked at hundreds, Anyway...

Is there any-way to add more fields in the "Sign Guestbook" page? I would like to have a dropdown down box that list refferers. Maybe you can have those options in the next version?

yes, definitely congrats on a GREAT guestbook! looked around at a TON of very boring, non-customizable gbs until i finally came across yours, and it's going to work out ABSOLUTELY PERFECT for me. i would ALSO be very interested in being able to add more guestbook questions so i'll stay tuned for any upcoming versions with this feature (hopefully!) i have a number of people looking for a good guestbooks for their sites so i'll be sure to send them your way! rock on...

Hi... I too congratulate you on a wonderful script. I have posted here because I feel my problem in a way relates to this original question. I do not wish to add fields... but rather remove one.

Where do I go to find that?

Oh... and also.. really really dumb question... is there an admin panel?? or is the admin password only used to delete etc?

Cheers

Hi,

You'd have to edit the gbook.php script to disable fields, but I don't recommend you do that unless you are familiar with PHP/HTML. In any case make sure you backup your original files before editing.

No, there is no admin panel. You can delete posts by clicking the red [X] button and entering your password.

Thanks for getting back to me. I have had a look at the gbook.php file, and managed to take out field for url... It worked fine at first... but for some reason it made entries private... so I uploaded an unedited version again.. started again... no it keeps saying that a comment has not been added... I have edited these type of files before, but only very basic... maybe I am trying to do too much, but I just don't want the website address option in there... is there anything you can suggest?

I have not actually opened the guestbook up yet... so all this is trial and error with no risk of loosing anything.

Cheers

From gbook.php try deleting lines 506-509 and 547-549, might work.
