Bug report: Private Knowledgebase articles do not display in subcategories

Post by OceanWind115 »

Script URL: https://support.studiodoorz.com
Version of script: 3.2.2
Hosting company: Cloudways
URL of phpinfo.php: https://support.studiodoorz.com/weiivhsliut/el_info.php
URL of session_test.php: not sure what you want here, but
What terms did you try when SEARCHING for a solution:

private knowledgebase article

Write your message below:

There seems to be a bug I want to report. I defined several articles as private and assigned them to a private category (Knowledgebase > Manage Subscriptions and Payments). When I go to Knowledgebase > View, no articles appear under Manage Subscription and Payments. The only way to access those articles is by going through Knowledgebase > Manage.

If I remove them from that category assignment (so they are assigned to Knowledgebase instead), I am able to see them in View.

The bug seems to be related to private articles.

Thank you!

Hmm, seems to work fine in my tests?

Can you confirm the articles are actually private, and not draft?

Are you able to give me access to your help desk to check? If yes, please send login details via a private message, as well as the ID of the two articles.

Hi Kleman,

Yes, they are fully published as private, not draft.

I've created an admin user for you:

****************************

There are 3 private, published articles assigned to the private category Managing Subscriptions and Payments. When I click Knowledgebase > View, I see what's in this attached screenshot:

I really appreciate your responsiveness. Thanks!

You are correct, that is a bug, thank you for reporting it.

It shows the articles now because I set one of the articles as "Published" not "Private". However, because the article is in a Private category, it still will not be visible to the outside.

So the temporary solution is to make sure at least one of the articles is "published" (it will still be considered private if it's in a private category).

And please do not post login details here in the forum, next time send a private message (on the right side under my name click the "Contact:" icon.
