as of a few days ago we noted that some tickets get submitted by clients without displaying an error but when we search for them they are missing...any thoughts

Hesk doesn't delete any tickets, only staff (with permission to delete tickets) can do that.

If you check inside your MySQL database can you still find the missing tickets in the hesk_tickets table?
