Admin delegate or "power user"

Post by plc »

Wondering if it's possible to have a user login that can only see tickets matching a specific field such as Company Name.

I have several clients that task a specific individual to maintain all IT issues with the company. This user creates ticket (in my hesk) and needs to keep an eye on the status (as well as update as needed). Currently, people tasked with this role need to lookup each ticket in their email, copy the ticket number and look it up in my hesk one by one.

If there's any way to have a person login and only see their on companies tickets, all that companies tickets, it would be really good for companies that use this model. I have several of these. My other clients allow employees direct access to my hesk and each are responsible for follow up..etc. I suppose I could create a hesk installation for each company but just as they're requesting of me, I'd rather look in one place ;)

The only way that can be done out of the box would be to create a separate ticket category for each company then create a user with all features but access only to their ticket category.

That makes sense. I'll give that a shot and see. Thanks.

Okay so I took some time to look into this and set it up and my first impression is that it will work very well. The only "glitch" if I can call it that is the user can see all the "categories". So by making companies as categories I don't want one client to see my full list of clients. Any idea how I could restrict the user to only see the assigned category? I thought perhaps setting the categories as private would help but they still see the whole list.
