How to filter emails from a domain in HESK?

Post by jorge28 »

Hello,

Can somebody tell me how to achieve this?

We have a helpdesk email setup that gets emails from a lot of sources, we want to have HESK to check that email for requests from 1 domain only (ours) and convert them into tickets, leaving all the other emails alone.

Can this be done?

Thanks.

There is no built-in function for this. You would for example have to use IMAP fetching and write a code to check/filter each message.

I'm not sure this is a good idea and how the performance will be in the long term. It would be way better and simpler if you had a dedicated email address. Maybe you can setup your system to send copies of all those emails to a dedicated email account for Hesk?

Never mind, we decided to create a secondary email just for HESK.

Thanks.

Hi Jorge28,

Were you wanting this so that you can decide who is allowed to send a "New" ticket per email?
If so ... that would make you able to reduce spam

Not exactly, it was just that the first email we a=wanted to use receives emails from a multitude of companies/people like vendors and purchases, etc. and we didn't want the emails from those companies/people to create tickets.

It was not because of SPAM.
