Category required

Hello,

when creating a new ticket in hESK 2.7.3. there ist a blocking message "Please select the appropriate category" but the field to select a category is missing, so I can't create a new ticket. I have only the fields

Name:
Email:
Priority:
Subject:
Message:
Owner:

and

Submit ticket

Is there a mistake in the settings, or did I miss something?

This doesn't happen when I test it, please provide:

- a link to your help desk
- details about how many categories (admin panel > Categories) you have and how are they marked (public or private)

Hello,

thanks for your quick answer.

We have 42 categories and 7 of them are private.

Our help desk runs in our private network http://10.8.20.13:8080/hesk22_neu/
so you won't reach it, only via teamviewer, or something like this.

I can't recreate the problem on my server, works as it should.

1. have you made any changes to the files?
2. are you 100% sure you have all Hesk files and database on the same version (did you upgrade recently?)
3. if you create a completely new, test Hesk 2.7.3 installation in a test folder, does it work normally?

Hello,

thank you for your hints, a completely new installation works without problems.

I am currently using Version 2.6.8 and didn't change any files in this version.

So maybe I insert all data from the old version into the tables of the new version, then it would work.

Databases between 2.7.3 and 2.6.8 aren't 100% compatible.

I would recommend:
- backup all existing files and database
- upload all 2.7.3 files to your help desk, except hesk_settings.inc.php
- run the update script (helpesk/install then select to update from previous version)
