php files download, not opening to view in browser

I edited the settings.php file with notepad and encoded it ut8. uploaded all files with filezilla, chmod the renamed entries file 666. however I go to any php file in the guestbook folder, they only download to open (then show only code), do not show as a file in a browser window. I tried in both firefox and chrome, and cleared cache to try again, not successful. Any help would be appreciated. I've installed other php scripts on domains, and not experienced this. I must be doing something incorrectly, can you assist please.

Hi,
Went away and cooked breakfast, then realized I hadn't turned on php support for this domain. Turned it on... works like a charm. Hope this helps others.
