will customization be lost on update

My script says there is an update but I have modified the language files as well as inserted graphics in the header and added custom fields. will updating to a new version of hesk cause me to lose any of the above?

If you are upgrading from 2.6.5, the patch file will preserve all.

If from an older version, settings will be preserved (and header if you follow upgrade steps precisely), but language files will be overwritten.

In any case you definitely should:
1. backup existing files and database
2. note any changes you make to HESK files and verify if they work after upgrade
