Port farwarding issue

Post by jeetusaini85 »

Hi,

I need to use hesk help desk with port forwarding also.

I tried and it works but when I click on back screen same is showing original ip address instead of port forwarding address, due to this page is showing unable to connect on window.

I can understand that this is happening due to setting of website URL ( as I used local machine as server and running hesk help desk using IP address), but how can I resolve this. People who using this apart from my original LAN (Using another IP address through port forwarding) are typing port forwarding URL every time.

For example:

Original LAN IP is : HTTP://192.168.X.XXX/ithelpdesk ( In which hesk help desk is running)
Port Forwarding LAN IP is : HTTP://187.71.XXX.XX/ithelpdesk ( which user who are not connected to original LAN directly)

Please help me on this.

Thanks. :)

Please be patient when waiting for a reply. Anyone who helps you here is doing so free of charge in their own free time.

I don't really understand everything you wrote, but inside any links HESK will use the URL address you enter as "Help desk URL:" in HESK settings. Make sure you have the correct IP there and any links generated will use that.

Sorry :( , I did'nt mean that.

Anyway :) , My actual problem is port forwarding.

Actually i used hesk in a local machine with window 7. The URL i have entered is HTTP://192.168.X.XXX/ithelpdesk, those who are directly connected with this URL through LAN can go to back page and next page using browser navigation arrow's but those who are not connected with this URL through LAN ( i am using port forwarding and give them another URL for same hesk.) can do work on hesk but when they use browser navigation arrow to go back to next page hesk is showing original URL instead of port forwarding URL, so because of this they enter port forwarding URL every time when they go to back of next page.

For example:

Original LAN IP is : HTTP://192.168.X.XXX/ithelpdesk ( In which hesk help desk is running)
Port Forwarding LAN IP is : HTTP://187.71.XXX.XX/ithelpdesk ( user who are not connected to original LAN directly but having internet can access hesk help desk with this URL)

Please help me on this.

I'm afraid I can't be of much use here as it's not directly a HESK issue (not something HESK generates), but an issue with forwarding/network setup.

You may want to check your firewall (or wherever you have port forwarding) setup as I don't understand why a browsers back button would change the IP of the website you just visited?
