Checking and rechecking links

I understand the software checks reciprocal links before posting them. Does the software periodically re-check links? If so, how often? Is there a setting for this?

Many will put a link on their page, add a link to my site, then delete their link. Need a way to stop this.

It doesn't re-check periodically, but you can re-check links from admin panel.
