Request Close status that can only be closed by admin.

Good morning!

I think a "Request Close" status would be nice, to make sure only the client and/or the admin can close tickets... The staff select this status when the ticket is done and the admin can verify the ticket and then close it.

With this the admin can check the tickets with "request close" status and see if they are really ready for closure or in need of some followup. Might be as simple as adding a status message but i'm not sure how to do it.

EDIT: Actually is not as simples as an add status. The user settings need to be updated with a "CLOSE TICKET" under user privileges. If it is selected the user can directly close ticket (all admins may do this) and if it is not selected, the user can only request closure.

As you figured out it would take quite some work. I won't give any promises, but will see if I can include something similar in the next release.

What do you think of getting rid of single permissions and using groups in Hesk?
So, if you create / edit an user you now only define his name/login, password, email and group.
Groups can be assigned categories / acp-permissions instead.

We could try to make some basic code examples for it to help.

That's exactly what I plan to do - groups with optional personal permissions.

I plan a large update in 2014 along with user interface update that will allow adding new pages and features more easily, so such features are to be expected in Hesk 3.0

Note that version 3.0 is still long way from being finished, so don't expect it too soon. I will probably release few more 2.x versions before 3.0
