IMAP support?

Post by dr_patso »

Would be great if you could fetch mail and convert to tickets with IMAP fetching. Maybe assign ticket to users and specfici categories based on the folder? (check for mail in folders matching username then categories?) Would be a great option for people want to use piping but need more functionality in their replies (multiple recipients and CC, embed images etc).

I've just set up a local non-internet email account (hmailserver) in my outlook as an IMAP and have hesk checking it via pop3. It's great because I can drag or copy&paste an email into that IMAP inbox and hesk will pick it up and delete it. Easier tracking and lots of time saved creating tickets. It's transparent to the user requesting support. The only bummer is with 4-5 hesk users it could get messy trying to find your tickets in the list of unassigned tickets.

not sure if imap supports subfolders. I'm playing with it. Maybe Hesk could configure the folders. I don't know. I'm bored.

IMAP is planned, but to be honest I don't expect it anytime soon, other features have priority.

Cool! I can't wait for that. I found an IMAP mod in the addons area and have been playing with it, it works alright, having trouble with attachments. It doesn't work nearly as well as the pop3 fetching built in, but it's fun to play around with. If I get something working I will share it in the addons section.
