Hi,

I setup the guestbook but i'm having an issue with the e-mail that is sent to me when a user signs the guestbook.

The e-mail address should be test@aol.com but shows up as test@aol.com

I have installed the IP ban hack but i'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. Any ideas to fix this?

Thank you
TheGuestUser

That should be: test& # 6 4;aol& # 4 6;com

Basically the @ and . show up as those numbers and characters.

Hello TheGuestUser,
  1. Do you receive the notification e-mail or not? So is it just a display problem or is the e-mail not send at all?
  2. Have you tried with a clean gbook.php without modifications? Otherwise try this first. Backup your modified gbook.php and your entries.txt file and use a clean gbook.php and clean entries.txt file. If the problem still exists, it is not a problem caused by the modification.
Greetings,

Hi,

Like Henrie said you should first try with original gbook.php. Those "hacks" while useful are not officially supported 8)

Hi,

Yes the e-mail does send when a user signs the guestbook. And uploading a new gbook.php fixes the display problem with the @ and . for the user's e-mail in the notification.

Yes you may, but I removed that part from your post as I don't want such requests public on the board for some special reasons  .

You should check your server e-mail software setup (or PHP setup). You will probably need your host to do that for you, please read old similar topics.
