We use HESK in a self-assigning environment. All staff receive the initial email notification that a ticket has been submitted. Then, the first available staff self-assigns it to themselves. All other staff members would like to then receive an email that a ticket has been assigned to "someone" without having to login to HESK to find out.

I won't promise anything, but will consider adding this as an option in the future, but if it is added it will definitely be off by default as it could lead to a lot of excess emails on busy help desks.
