Change Language

Post by pHundt »

Script URL: PHP Guestbook
Version of script: 1.7
Hosting company:
URL of phpinfo.php:
URL of session_test.php:
What terms did you try when SEARCHING for a solution:

Write your message below: Hello, I have successfully loaded the Guest book and it works! Now I ma trying to make it look nice and I have only had limited results. This is as far as I have gotten.
http://www.imrreisen.de/Gbook/gbook.php naturally I would like it to loook a lot more like the rest of my website (www.imrreisen.de). I am using an older version of Dreamweaver (2004) and can make the changes to style.css etc. there. The most important challenge for me is to change the titles and commands to German. I have combed through your code but can't find where text such as "View Guestbook" is written.

Can you help me.
Best regards,
Peter

Hello Peter,

All the text used by GBook is located inside the "language.inc.php" file - open it in a plain text editor (like Notepad or your Dreamweaver) and modify the text to fit your needs.

You will also find an existing German translation here:

 I want to use two different languages in the Guestbook. Is it possible that the user should decide which language to use. My idea is to put some code in index.php in order to select language and after selecting the Guestbook, it should open in desired language.

Thanks! In waiting for this really good usage, I shall prepare the translation in Slovenian language. For now I am obliged to use only English language on my Website. I am using your scripts from today (23rd July 2012).

Yes Klemen, you can do Slovenian language. But the language is not yet available as a language to download. So it will be excellent if asaki will provide it.

Pozdrav,
Henrie
I do not monitor the Gbook forums regularly anymore since I do not use the Gbook script myself anymore for a long time. But it helped me a lot in learning to understand php.

Pravkar sem naredil slovenski prevod in sem ga testiral kolikor je bilo mogoče. Ga pošljem? Ja iščem tule, kam se pošlje? Vabljen na ogled moje strani in mali zapis v Knjigo gostov!

I'm afraid I didn't receive it - did you perhaps get a returned mail (email delivery failed)?

Could you try sending it again please and add the language file to a Zip file.
