is linkman project dead

Post by jason102178 »

Hi

I was wondering if the linkman project is dead, because there hasnt been a new release or an update for 2 yrs, last time it was updated was back in april 2009....

Just curious because there has been so many changes and improvments on the web that i thought it was time for an update...

and to possibly add HTML5 support

and add maybe something the new html 5-css3 webforms

its long over do for a facelift and to redeign linkman

Completely dead no, outdated yes. I'm afraid other projects had priority and hopefully I will get to update Linkman soon.

a few suggestions

Post by jason102178 »

Also here are a few suggstions for if and when you update that i think would be good to incorporate into the updated version....

1.add HTML 5 Support

2.add Google Sitemap support "so everytime a link is added it adds it to the sitemap"

3.add SSL Support " because people cant add websites if their https" and if the thumbnail view is enabled it disabled a website that has ssl enabled.

4.Add a user control panel so users can login and change and modify their listing once aprooved

5. be sure to add this code to the updated version of script because currently when users download they can not get the google page rank to work...

Code: Select all

GET /tbr?
6.change the google page rank images because currently they do not say the number of page rank someone has like 1 of 10 the only way someone knows what the page rank is, is to hoover there cursor over the image and not a lot of people know that, people like to see more of a visual

as a developer my self, i know how some projects take priority over others and how ya can get busy with other things.

but thanks for the awsome script, and i am looking forward to an update

wow, i came back almost a year and a half later to see if any kind of updates released for this script, and nothing has changed yet, I know things have taken priority over this script, i acually thought it was one of your main scripts that people use, and i didnt know it was put on the back burner that far back

could you imagine if wordpress or phpbb never updated their scripts, millions of people would not use it, as things advance coding changes and get better, and their could be some kind of security fix or something that has to be released i would think...

Oh well, thank you for the very useful scripts, I guess i am gonna search for a script that the author activly updates, as it seems like this one is really gonna be dead as it approches the 2 yr mark

Thanks again for the awsome script.
